The crew's living area seems to be about the same size and shape as the environment room; it's a large, round room. The difference is that the second floor is a full floor, not just a metal catwalk. About a quarter of the lower level contains air ducts and other machines for life support, and the rest is open area. A hole in the upper floor provides a space for an elevator next to the staircase. The tunnel in the center of the photo on the bottom leads back to the main junction. The upper story is another large open space, cut into halves. One half has a black and white checkered tile floor, the other has a 'false' floor, now torn away, and is the room where they actually controlled the missiles from. A large, derelict control panel lies on its side there. Latrines were also on this floor. (now smashed) As with all the large rooms in the complex, the floors are mounted on huge coiled metal springs to help absorb the shock of a bomb blast on the surface, and there is a small space of about 6 inches between the floors and the walls, bridged by a (now) rotted rubber sheet.
