Morose Marvin
When the dust cleared, Marvin realized something else had fallen from the ceiling: a coffin. And its occupant.
The coffin had splintered apart when it hit the passage floor. Marvin suddenly realized that the tunnels all led out to the neighboring cemeteries surrounding the school!
He trained the flashlight on the ceiling, and then back to the wrecked coffin. It shifted.
Marvin froze.
It shifted again.
Marvin backed up.
The coffin's occupant groaned and slowly sat up. Its makeup was smudged slightly, but it still bore the idyllic smile of the dead.
Marvin felt ill. It was Mrs. Maguire.
She coughed dustily and got to her feet. She piped up condescendingly, "Hi! What a sweet little boy you are! Is your mother home?"
Marvin screamed. He ran, and ran, and ran. He made several wrong turns in his panic, but he eventually found the main tunnel back to the Randolph Mortician School for Boys.
